From arrivals to your next stop

Getting around Korea, from buses to taxis

Plan airport and intercity journeys, use Seoul night buses, understand transfer time limits, and compare taxi apps and fares.

For your first day, save the route to your accommodation and read the guide for the vehicle you will use. The city-bus and subway instructions below focus on Seoul and the connected metropolitan network; individual guides explain their scope. Airport coaches and intercity trains have separate ticketing arrangements.

Need help finding the right stop or station exit? Start with the maps and travel-app guide.

  • For an everyday ride: use the bus and subway guides for boarding, card payment and transfers.
  • After the trains finish: check Seoul’s N night buses for a route home. Confirm the actual stop and next arrival; a network operating window is not your stop’s last departure.
  • For a connection near 07:00 or 21:00: read the transfer time-limit examples. The next boarding time determines which window applies.
  • For a taxi: compare Uber, Kakao T and k.ride, including Seoul’s night surcharges and app payment.
  • For a different city: check the KTX booking steps and the exact departure station before planning the rest of your day.

Planning a night out as well as the ride? Compare evening views, performances and a riverside walk by closing time and the journey back.

Keep the next step handy.

The trip checklist links each preparation task to the guide that helps you do it.
