Incheon Airport to Myeongdong: Bus 6015, AREX or Taxi?

Choose your airport transfer by hotel location and luggage: 6015 fares, terminal ticket counters, the Seoul Station connection and a late-arrival fallback.

Start with bus 6015 if its stop is close to your hotel and you want to avoid changing trains with luggage. Choose AREX plus the subway if you prefer rail and can manage a station transfer. Consider a taxi for a difficult final walk or a group with bags, after checking the full vehicle price.

The useful destination is your hotel entrance, not simply “Myeongdong.” A booking in this area may put you near Myeongdong Station, Euljiro or a different stop. Save the Korean address and a walking route before choosing transport.

Compare the complete journey

Option Price reference, checked 22 September 2026 What happens after the airport ride? Main trade-off
Bus 6015 Adult ₩17,000; child aged 6–12 ₩12,000 Get off at the stop nearest your accommodation, then walk Fewer luggage transfers, but road traffic and the final walk still matter
AREX Express + subway Displayed adult Express fare ₩13,000; onward subway travel is additional Change at Seoul Station for your hotel connection Assigned seat on Express; a train change remains
AREX All-Stop + subway Check the fare for your airport terminal through to your destination at the machine or in the official route search Change at Seoul Station if heading to Myeongdong Station Budget-oriented rail option; allow for carrying bags through the interchange
Taxi Obtain an estimate for the exact address and vehicle; ask whether tolls and surcharges are included Travel to the accessible hotel drop-off point Compare the total vehicle cost with your party’s bus tickets

Fare sources: 6015 operator, AREX Express and airport taxi guidance. The Express page also displays higher normal fares; check the price offered for your actual booking rather than treating ₩13,000 as permanent.

For three adults, the listed bus fare totals ₩51,000 one way. Use that as a comparison point for a taxi quote, not as evidence that a taxi will be cheaper. Check that the chosen car can carry everyone and the suitcases.

Taking bus 6015 from the airport

1. Choose your destination stop first

The official 6015 route page lists these useful stop labels:

Your hotel area Stop name to compare with your hotel pin
Myeongdong Station / L7 / Sejong Hotel area Myeong-dong Stn. (L7 Myeong-dong, Sejong Hotel)
Lotte / ibis area Lotte Hotel / IBIS Myeong-dong
Royal Hotel / Euljiro 1-ga area Royal Hotel (Euljiro 1-ga)
Chungmuro / PJ Hotel area PJ Hotel / Chungmu-ro Stn.

These are comparison points, not door-to-door hotel services. Check crossings, slopes and the actual entrance. A stop with a familiar hotel name is not necessarily the best stop for your accommodation.

2. Buy the right ticket at your arrival terminal

Use the operator’s ticket-office guide:

  • Terminal 1: staffed counters on 1F near Gates 4, 6, 9 and 11. Machines are listed near Gates 4, 7, 8 and 11 and ticket counters.
  • Terminal 2: staffed ticketing on B1 near the west side of short-term parking. Machines are listed around the waiting area, bus stops and Airport Railroad entrances.

Show the route number and hotel address. Ask for the correct departure, destination stop and boarding bay; follow the ticket and current signs. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are different boarding locations. Do not use a bay number copied from another terminal’s screenshot.

The operator’s payment FAQ directs airport-departing passengers to buy a ticket. Buying at the airport also lets you confirm the service you can actually catch after immigration and baggage collection. We have not tested foreign-card payment or a third-party voucher. If using a voucher, read its exchange instructions before joining the boarding line.

3. Board, identify your bags and keep the hotel walk saved

Confirm 6015 and your stop with staff before handing over luggage. Keep valuables and travel documents with you, and retain any luggage receipt provided. For oversized bags, a stroller or mobility equipment, ask about acceptance and assistance before purchasing; do not assume every item fits.

If the next bus is full, ask about the next available service before switching routes. Another bus labelled “Seoul” may leave you far from your hotel.

Taking AREX and changing at Seoul Station

AREX does not take you directly to Myeongdong Station. The airport railway’s connection map shows the Line 4 interchange at Seoul Station; Visit Korea identifies Myeongdong Station as Line 4.

  1. Follow airport signs to the railway and choose Express or All-Stop deliberately.
  2. For Express, buy its separate ticket and use the assigned train and seat. Both terminals have Express customer centers in their B1 transportation centers.
  3. At Seoul Station, follow Line 4 signs and check the platform display for the direction serving Myeongdong. Allow time for corridors, gates and elevators.
  4. Make sure your ticket or transit-card payment covers the onward subway journey. An Express reservation alone is not a subway ticket.
  5. At Myeongdong, follow the exit route to your hotel; with heavy bags, look for an elevator route rather than automatically choosing the nearest numbered exit.

Express lists 43 minutes from T1 to Seoul Station, 51 from T2. All-Stop lists 59 and 66 minutes, with some services taking 2–6 minutes longer. These are the airport-railway segment only: add waiting, the interchange, the subway and the final walk. They are not airport-to-hotel promises.

If your accommodation is closer to Euljiro than Myeongdong Station, compare a route to that address instead of forcing this example. See our subway ticket and transfer guide before using the gates.

When a taxi is worth comparing

Use a designated airport taxi stand or the pickup instructions for your confirmed booking. The airport warns about solicitors and call vans posing as taxis.

Show the address and ask: metered or fixed price, tolls included or extra, and any night surcharge? The airport lists night surcharges for Seoul standard taxis from 22:00 to 04:00, with the rate varying by hour. A base fare on a sign is not the fare all the way to Myeongdong. Our taxi app and fare guide explains vehicle and payment choices.

Late arrival: check the last usable connection

Look up departures for your terminal, your travel date and the airport-to-city direction. On the bus operator’s route page, choose To Downtown, then the airport terminal stop; a timetable for a Myeongdong stop can describe the opposite journey. Do not use a ticket counter’s closing time as the bus’s last departure.

For rail, check both the airport train and the onward subway. Reaching Seoul Station after your connection ends still leaves a hotel transfer to solve. Allow for baggage and immigration before assessing the last departure; landing time is not boarding time.

If the daytime options are no longer usable, consult our late arrival at Incheon guide and confirm current services at the airport. A night coach to another district is useful only if you have a workable onward route.

Save these details before flying

  • Arrival terminal and the hotel’s Korean address.
  • Selected bus stop or subway station, plus the walk to the entrance.
  • Ticket method and a fallback if the next departure is unavailable.
  • Hotel late-check-in instructions if your arrival may be delayed.

Useful phrases to show staff: 이 호텔에 가려면 어디에서 내려야 하나요? (“Where should I get off for this hotel?”) and 6015번 버스는 어디에서 타나요? (“Where do I board bus 6015?”). Show the hotel address with the question.
