Seoul Subway Luggage Lockers: Fit, Payment and Pickup

Plan storage between hotel checkout and departure: compare locker charges, check overseas-card options and leave time to collect your suitcase.

For a few hours between hotel checkout and departure, choose a locker you can return to easily, check that your packed bag fits, and plan collection before the station closes. A low base price is not the whole cost: include extra hours and the journey back for your suitcase.

This guide covers T-Locker; other station lockers may have different prices and instructions. T-Luggage is a separate staffed service.

Choose storage around your return route

Your plan Practical choice Check before committing
Sightseeing, then returning through the same station A station locker Correct size, payment and collection deadline
Leaving Seoul by KTX later Storage near your departure route Allow time to retrieve the bag and reach the train platform
Oversized luggage or trouble completing self-service payment A staffed counter Acceptance of your bag, total charge and collection time
Returning after station access ends Another arrangement with confirmed late access Do not assume a subway locker is accessible all night

Choose a location by the whole journey. A locker beside your first sightseeing stop can be inconvenient if your evening train departs from the other side of the city. Plan your Seoul–Busan transfer before choosing a storage stop.

Check the compartment and the full charge

Seoul’s published T-Locker reference lists the following fees. The first price covers four hours; check the exact locker screen for your date and intended duration. Seoul storage information

Size Weekday, first 4 hours Weekend, first 4 hours Each extra hour
Small ₩2,200 ₩3,100 ₩500
Medium ₩3,300 ₩4,600 ₩800
Large ₩4,400 ₩6,100 ₩1,000

Measure your packed bag in all three directions, including wheels, handles and bulging pockets, and compare it with the actual compartment. A suitcase’s advertised inch size alone does not establish that it fits.

For illustration, exactly eight hours in a large locker at the listed weekday tariff is ₩4,400 + four extra hours at ₩1,000 = ₩8,400. This calculation assumes that tariff applies; it is not a quote for every locker or an explanation of partial-hour rounding.

Follow the instructions on your locker

For lockers that direct you to the current T-Locker web service, the operator describes this QR process without installing the app. Follow the specific machine if it uses different instructions:

  1. Scan the locker QR and select an available compartment.
  2. Choose payment, enter an email address you can access, and pay.
  3. Use the current one-time code on the keypad, store the bag, close the door and confirm that it is locked.
  4. Return to your locker record, pay any overtime, then follow the pickup instructions.

For an overseas-issued card, select International if offered; the separate Card option is labelled for Korean-issued cards. Some locations do not support International payment. We have not tested a foreign-card transaction.

It is single-use: partial collection or adding more items is not supported. Keep your passport, phone and anything needed during the day with you. Save the location and receipt; a screenshot of an old changing code is not a substitute for the current pickup screen.

Plan collection before closing

The operator’s current notice warns that weekend and holiday station access can end before midnight. After closing, retrieval must wait until reopening, and hourly charges continue. Confirm the local deadline before leaving your bag. T-Locker access notice

Work backward from your departure: pickup, walking through the station, any transfer, and time at your platform or airport. Do not use the last possible pickup minute as your target. A train ticket does not resolve a closed locker area.

If storage does not work

  • The bag does not fit: do not force the door or mark storage complete. Use the on-screen help or a staffed alternative before leaving.
  • Payment fails: check whether the correct payment option was selected and whether the transaction completed before paying again. Keep the error and receipt details for support.
  • The locker record disappears: the operator provides email recovery through its Find my locker function. Keep access to the email used at payment. T-Locker
  • The door will not open: use the locker’s displayed support details. The city also lists Korean-language help on 1877-1265 or 1670-4302 from 06:00 to midnight. Do not count on immediate physical assistance. Seoul storage information
  • You will miss collection time: contact the operator as soon as possible and reorganize the onward journey. Do not leave the bag and assume the next station employee can release it.

At Seoul Station, a staffed fallback is T-Luggage, listed by the city on subway Line 1, B1 near Exit 1. This is in the subway area; do not assume every storage counter in the KTX station is the same operator. Confirm the branch’s collection hours and bag acceptance directly, especially for an early pickup. This is a separate counter service with its own prices. Its terms can exclude valuables, electronics and fragile or perishable items. T-Luggage branch information and terms

Before walking away, save the station name, line, floor, exit direction, locker-bank label and door number. Photograph the location without exposing your access code. Keep your phone charged and leave enough time to solve a problem before your onward journey.

Add bag collection to your intercity travel checklist. For the next leg, see Seoul subway transfers and Incheon Airport transport.
