Choose your return journey before choosing the bundle. A Sky Capsule ticket buys one direction for your party. One train ride back and an afternoon with several train stops can make different tickets worthwhile. Compare the whole trip you want, then reserve its departure station and time.
This guide uses ordinary adult fares and official information checked on October 9, 2026. We have not ridden this route or tested an overseas-card payment. For the surrounding coastal day, use our Busan first-visit route.
Compare the trip you will actually take
The current operator fare table lists a one-way Capsule for two, three or four people at KRW 50,000, 55,000 or 60,000 per capsule. The corresponding Capsule-plus-train package totals are KRW 73,000, 92,000 and 111,000. Do not multiply a capsule total by everyone again.
These examples start with a Capsule from Mipo to Cheongsapo and finish at Mipo on the same day. They use regular adult fares without discounts.
| Intended train use after the Capsule | Separate tickets for the whole party | Package total | Which fits this plan? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two adults: Cheongsapo to Mipo, one boarding each | KRW 50,000 + 2 × KRW 8,000 = KRW 66,000 | KRW 73,000 | Separate tickets cost KRW 7,000 less for this simple return. |
| Four adults: Cheongsapo to Songjeong, then Songjeong to Mipo, two boardings each | KRW 60,000 + 4 × KRW 14,000 = KRW 116,000 | KRW 111,000 | The package costs KRW 5,000 less than these separate tickets. |
The second example needs two different boarding stations. Get off at Songjeong and join the return boarding process; the separate-ticket calculation allows no extra intermediate alighting and reboarding. These are price calculations, not availability checks.
The package’s train component is the all-stations pass. The Korean fare page makes that clearer than the English label Beach Train(Free). It allows one boarding at each station, not repeated unlimited rides from the same stop. Choose extra coverage only when your route and remaining time let you use it.
Choose where you want to finish
The Capsule runs between Mipo and Cheongsapo; it does not continue to Songjeong. The operator’s boarding instructions also restrict your ticket to its booked departure station.
- Starting around Haeundae: Mipo to Cheongsapo fits the two examples above. Reserve a separate way back or plan to continue from Cheongsapo by road.
- Wanting to finish near Haeundae: consider reaching Cheongsapo first and taking the Capsule toward Mipo. Recalculate any train approach; the examples above do not price this reversed route.
- Adding Songjeong: use the Beach Train for that section and count each time you will board it.
The operator’s directions put Mipo about a 15-minute walk from Jungdong Station, Line 2, Exit 7. Cheongsapo has a different approach, so save the actual Capsule station rather than just Haeundae in your map.
Check the release week, then leave room for the queue
The official reservation page releases a Monday-to-Sunday week four weeks ahead each Tuesday at 07:00. An unreleased date is different from a sold-out date. The English page does not label the timezone; confirm the operator’s clock before converting that release time for an overseas alarm.
An 11:00–11:30 Capsule reservation is an entry window. Enter during that window, then wait your turn; it does not promise arrival at the other station by 11:30. The ride itself takes about 30 minutes after boarding. The instructions warn that queues can make a final Beach Train connection difficult.
For the train, meet the initial reservation time and arrive before the boarding queue closes ten minutes before departure. Cheongsapo and intermediate stations use arrival order; reboarding can take longer when busy. Seats are not assigned, and standing is possible. A train ticket is not a guarantee of an immediately available seated ride.
Check the return station’s timetable
The official timetable displayed for the off-season months, including October, shows the last Cheongsapo-to-Mipo train at 19:42 when checked on October 9, 2026. Its ticket-sales note closes sales ten minutes before the last departure. Do not treat that cutoff as a recommended arrival time or a boarding guarantee. Recheck the current station display on your travel day; other seasons have different schedules.
If you miss the train, Haeundae-gu’s village-bus route list shows Haeundae-gu 2 from the Blueline Park stop toward Jangsan Station/NC, then Mipo/Moontan Road Entrance and metro Haeundae Station. The operator estimates about ten minutes’ walking between the Mipo/Moontan Road stop and Mipo station. The bus is an alternative road route, not a guaranteed connection: check its direction and live arrivals.
Save that route in a Korea travel app, or prepare a taxi app and check its actual Busan trip estimate. Leave room for road traffic before an onward KTX departure.
If payment or the weather changes your plan
The official FAQ warns that some overseas cards may fail its authentication process. An English booking page does not establish that your card will work. If you need another sales channel, follow the operator’s official vendor list, then compare the exact departure, ticket or voucher format, confirmation steps and cancellation terms. We have not tested those sellers or their inventory.
Ordinary rain does not normally stop the service. The operating-hours page says heavy rain or typhoons may cause suspension. Check current notices before leaving; a rainy forecast alone is not evidence of an operator cancellation or a refund entitlement.
Cancellation depends on how and when you bought
The main booking policy requires cancellation and a new booking to change the schedule. Its ordinary refund scale is full refund at least three days before travel, 80% two days before, 70% one day before and 50% on the travel day before boarding time; no refund after that time.
Keep these separate exceptions in mind:
- Bought through the official website on the travel day: the FAQ describes fee-free cancellation before boarding time. This does not cover every ticket cancelled on its travel day.
- Reserved using a voucher or pass: the policy effective January 1, 2026 permits cancellation only through three days before the ride. Check voucher terms before purchase, especially if another form shows a different cutoff.
- Bought elsewhere: use that seller’s terms; do not extend the official-site exception to another channel.
Before paying
- Confirm your date, adult party size, Capsule departure station and first facility in any package.
- Count the train boardings you actually want and compare party totals.
- Allow for the queue and check the return station’s timetable plus a road alternative.
- Read the cancellation rules for your purchase channel and voucher status.
- Enter an accessible email address, then save the confirmed ticket’s boarding QR with its date and station. The barcode is for parking discounts, not boarding.
Keep those details with your trip checklist. For other timed activities, use Tickets & events; use Places to visit to plan the rest of the day.
